Garon In2foods Workers On Strike

About 50 members of Food and Allied Workers Union (F.A.W.U), employed by Garon In2foods, a fish processing factory in Killarney Gardens have embarked on a protected strike action on Tuesday 9 October 2018 in demand of higher wages and better living conditions.

Workers demand the following:

  • 10 percent wage increase;
  • 3 weeks bonus;
  • 4-months paid leave;
  • 7,5 % providend fund;
  • Funeral plans to be paid by company;
  • A freezer allowance of 10%

Poor vulnerable workers in our country are really feeling the brunt of the high cost of living and in light of the recent rise in fuel and its expected impact on cost of food and other living expenses, employers should be more considerate when workers are striking for the legitimate demand of a living wage.

Forward with a Living Wage!
