FAWU mourns the death of Comrade Ahmed Kathrada

FAWU mourns the death of anti-apartheid ANC stalwart, comrade Ahmed Kathrada who passed away during the early morning hours of 28 March 2017 at the age of 87. It is a huge blow to the nation as we mourn one of the country`s beloved political leaders` who has over a period of 70 years demonstrated his revolutionary convictions ,courage and compassion to all those who came in contact with him.

His life-long dedication and commitment towards creating a just South Africa and his strong beliefs in nation-building will continue to humble us. His passion for the nation was evident to all and the loss of such an endearing icon in our political landscape is deeply saddening as it brings with the realisation that yet another legendary leader with strong morals, outstanding credentials and accomplishments has left us forever.

FAWU therefore salutes comrade Ahmed Kathrada for the part that he played in the liberation of our country. We will never forget his tireless efforts and we will seek to uphold the values he has instilled in us by his persuasion, wisdom and dynamic leadership.

May his dear soul rest in peace. Hamba Kahle, cde Kathrada!
